Grace Lee Boggs and Unfinished AAPI Revolutions is an official RI 250 event and the AAPI History Museum's kick-off program for AAPI Heritage Month. Born in Providence in 1915, Grace Lee Boggs became one of the most influential Asian American civil rights leaders, philosophers, feminists, and community organizers of the twentieth century. Co-Presented with The Public Humanities and Arts Collaborative (The Co-Lab) at RWU and RWU Law School, this free program will feature a short documentary clip, panel discussion, community reflections, and Q&A exploring Boggs' legacy, Asian American activism, Providence Chinatown, and Rhode Island's AAPI communities within the broader story of America at 250. A reception with food, flamenco performance, and an interactive dance experience with Flamenco Rhode Island will follow.

Mixed Heritage, One Providence

Mixed Heritage, One Community, the exhibit, highlights the history of multiracial Americans and its connections to AAPI history. The exhibit invites visitors into a community space to share experiences, connect, and explore what it means to be mixed in America.
Guests will receive free admission to the museum from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided. The event will take place outdoors under the tent at the AAPI History Museum - 44 Hospital Street, Providence, RI.
